Board of Directors
Our voluntary Board of Directors governs the UKD Foundation. Board members represent a variety of professional backgrounds and each board member serves a three-year volunteer term.
Andrew Hosking – President and Chairman
Andrew Hosking founded the UKD Foundation in 2013. Prior to founding the UKD Foundation, Andrew was a Managing Director at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch where he held numerous leadership positions in technology and business operations, as well as board of director responsibilities for numerous subsidiaries. Prior to that, Andrew was a partner at the international consulting firm Accenture where he was an industry leader in the financial services technology practice. During his 20 years at Accenture, he gained extensive experience establishing and operating successful business entities across a wide variety of industries. Andrew was born and raised in Australia and now lives with his family in New York City.
Dr. Anthony J. Bleyer, M.D., M.S. – Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee
Anthony J. Bleyer M.D., M.S. is currently the Professor of Kidney Disease at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where he has been on the faculty for over 20 years. Dr. Bleyer has been involved in UKD research for more than 15 years, publishing numerous articles and presenting on UKD at various conferences and events. Prior to joining Wake Forest, Dr. Bleyer studied and conducted laboratory research in kidney disease at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bleyer attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and then performed his internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Bleyer lives with his family in the Winston-Salem area of North Carolina.
Ben Lewis – Chief Technology Officer and Secretary
Ben Lewis is currently the SVP of Strategy and Business Development at ProQuest. Prior to joining ProQuest, Ben served as Head of Strategy at Moody's and in several roles at Thomson Reuters including as a leader in corporate strategy and as a leader of a strategic sales group. While at Thomson Reuters he organized numerous growth projects and authored the white paper “Intelligence, Intuition and Information.” Prior to that, Ben was a senior executive at Accenture where he was a strategy consultant and founding member of Accenture’s data management practice focused on capital markets clients and financial services information providers. During his professional career, Ben has worked with clients and businesses around the globe including Brazil, UK, Germany, India, China, France, Czech Republic and Japan. Ben received his undergraduate engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania and MBA from Cornell University. Ben lives with his family in New York City.
